Choose an element to build its most common isotope
Welcome to Quark Lab
Quark editor: drag quarks (or tap, then tap the scene) and push them together. Three quarks, three antiquarks, or a quark with an antiquark snap into a hadron, which is named for you.
Pull a quark out of a hadron and the gluon field stretches like a string, then snaps and creates a new quark–antiquark pair. That is why you never see a lone quark.
Coloured rings show each quark's colour charge. Bound states are always colour-neutral (red + green + blue, or colour + anti-colour). The wiggly lines are gluons.
Atom builder: add protons, neutrons and electrons, or pick any element from the periodic table. Click a nucleon to zoom into its quarks.
Rotate with drag, zoom with scroll or pinch. Double-click a quark (or press Delete) to remove it.
